Carol Jean Andreasen was born April 16, 1922 in Crookston, MN to August and Matilda (Ziebeck) Woelk. She enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945 as a Staff Sargeant. Carol obtained a BA Degree from the Minnesota College of Music, then was united in marriage to John 'Jack' Andreasen on September 1, 1948. Carol's passion for singing led to her performing with the Presidents Marine Corps Orchestra and the Minneapolis Symphony. She conducted various church choirs in Mound and Springfield. She served as organist for the Episcopalian Church in Morton. Carol gave voice and piano lessons to many, and substitute taught in Blue Earth and Mound. Carol owned and published the 'Comfrey Times' for 7 years before her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, crafts, and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by husband John of Springfield; children- Barbara (Merle) Riddle of Cokato, John W. Andreasen (Yancey Thrift) of Minneapolis, Christine Hamilton of Springfield, and Peter (Cathleen) Andreasen of Shoreview; grandchildren- Samantha (Jason) Nissen and their children, McKenna and Reese, Courtney (Todd) Wozniak and their children Hudson, Bryce and Morgan, and Heather Hamilton; and sister Betty (Harry) Licoln of Binghamton, NY, She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters- Helen Woelk and Marion Hopkins.
