Carissa Elkins

Carissa Elkins was born June 21, 1984 in Mankato. She graduated from Madelia High School in 2003.She attended MSU- Mankato for 2 years. She began working at Luther Home in Madelia while attending Worthington Community College. During her commute in 2008, she was involved in a critical car accident and became permanently disabled. Carissa adored her children and was a very loving and caring person with a big heart. She accepted everyone as they are and never judged. Carissa's spirit of giving continued after her death as many benefited through her organ/tissue donations, including a 48 year old female waiting 108 days for a heart transplant, and a one year old girl waiting 209 days for a kidney transplant. She is Survived by her children Alex and Maryssa Augustin; parents, Cindy (Barry) Gulden, Doug (Sandy) Elkins; brothers Dustin (Laura) Elkins and Austin Gulden; half- sisters Tiffany and Melissa Elkins; special friend Juan Augustin; grandparents Joyce and (Harold) Luepke and Ron Elkins; great grandmother Dorothy Pauley and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces.
