Arlene Viola Wotschke was born November 26, 1919 to Fred and Anna (Weilage) Wotschke on a farm near Sleepy Eye, MN in Brown County. She was baptized on December 28, 1919 and confirmed March 25, 1934 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sleepy Eye. She attended school at Sleepy Eye District #22 and at St. John's Lutheran School. Arlene was a charter member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sleepy Eye. She lived her entire life on the family farm and for the past two years was lovingly cared for at the Sleepy Eye Care Center. When out of school Arlene worked helping others with housework and childcare when someone was ill or needed extra help. She was a homemaker who worked on the farm helping wherever she could. Arlene was a quiet, gentle person with a true servant's heart who loved reading the Bible, gardening, baking, doing puzzles and word games, and most especially being with family. She looked forward to visits from her nephews and nieces who she called the little ones and loved the opportunity to care for them. She was blessed to also enjoy visits often from great nephews and nieces and even her great-great niece. Arlene Wotschke went to be with her Lord December 5, 2011 at the age of 92. Arlene is survived by her brother Armin Wotschke of Sleepy Eye, sisters Adeline Enns of Sleepy Eye, and Bernice (Herbert) Geiger of Mankato, Nephews/Nieces - Dale (Laurie) Enns, JoAnn (David) Mack, Duane (Mitzi) Enns, Ron (Rita) Geiger, Dean (special friend Shelia Brown) Enns, Karen (Steve) Purrington, Mark (Jane) Geiger, 13 great nieces and nephews and one great-great niece. She is preceded in death by her parents Fred and Anna, baby sister Mildred, Nephews Douglas and infant baby Geiger.
