Alfred 'Bud' Zwaschka passed away peacefully Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the Sleepy Eye Care Center with his two children by his side. Bud was born August 31, 1918, at home, the son of John and Theresa (Helget) Zwaschka. He attended St. Paul's Catholic School in Comfrey. Bud was a lifetime member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and was involved in many activities. He was a very spiritual and religious man who was dedicated to Christian practices by his faith in God. Bud was dedicated in his life-long occupation of farming where he worked long and hard hours and was proud of his success that was self-rewarding as attested to and by his wife and children. He was always willing to lend a hand when others were in need of assistance at any time. His wife and two children were always of the highest importance and the same given to his grandchildren. Bud enjoyed visiting with friends and relatives in get-togethers with many of the special people who enriched his being and purpose of life. Bud is survived by his wife of 64 years Evone; children- Ruth and husband Dave Englin of Comfrey, and Ralph Zwaschka of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren- Andrew and wife Amy Englin, Garret Englin and special friend LeAnn Belt, and Kate and husband Rick Thurston; great-grandchild Taylor Thurston; special little girls- Jenna and Carli; sisters- Dolores (Ray) Mlazgar and Cyrilla Beal; brother-in-law Roger (LaVonne) Anderson; sisters-in-law- Margaret Anderson, Mavis Anderson, and Betty Zwaska; and many nieces, nephews and relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers- Len, Ray, and John; sisters- Florence and Aleda; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Bud had a very self-fulfilling, enriched, unselfish life filled with many relatives and friends during his 92 years in a wonderful way of living.
