Adina Janssen

August 16, 1918 — January 28, 2009

Adina Evelyn Stoesz, the daughter of John D. and Maria (Schultz) Stoesz was born on August 16, 1918 in Watonwan County, MN. She received her education at and graduated from Butterfield High School in Butterfield, MN. Evie was baptized upon confession of her faith at the Valley Church north of Mountain Lake, MN. On September 24, 1939 she was united in marriage to William J. Bim Janssen at the Valley Church. They made their home in the Mountain Lake Annex until Bim was drafted into the U.S. Army, and they moved to New York where she lived and worked while he served. Following Bim's service they returned to Mountain Lake where she cared for their home. She was active as Chairman of the Mountain Lake Blood Mobil, in the American Legion Auxiliary, and as a guide at the Heritage Village. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, bird watching and traveling. Evie died on Wednesday morning, January 28, 2009 at the Good Samaritan Village in Mountain Lake. Adina is preceded in death by her parents two sisters, Helen Stoesz and Tillie McQuilkin; three brothers, David, Leander and Orlando Stoesz; two sisters-in-law, Betty Stoesz and Dorothy Stoesz; two brothers-in-law, George McQuilkin and Lenny Perron; and a niece, Barbara (Stoesz) Larson. She is survived by her husband, William Janssen; a sister, Linda Perron of Phoenix, AZ; a brother, Joel Stoesz and his wife Verna of Mountain Lake; a sister-in-law, Norma Stoesz of Black Canyon City, AZ; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
