Adeline Leona Syverson, the daughter of John and Sophie (Oberdick) Syverson was born December 18, 1917 in Odin, Minnesota. Adeline was baptized January 14, 1918 at her home and confirmed on October 4, 1931 at Long Lake Lutheran Church, St. James, MN. On March 10, 1938 Adeline was united in marriage to Edon Marius Hunstad at the Zion Lutheran Church in Odin. The couple made their home farming until retiring to Butterfield in 1966. Adeline was a "hot lunch" cook at the Butterfield School for 25 years. She was united in marriage September 2002 to Herzhal Milligan of Butterfield. During her 93 years she was noted for her gardening, baking, and quilting. Adeline is survived by her husband, Herzhal Milligan; son Larry (Sue) Hunstad of New Ulm, MN; 5 grandchildren: Jennifer (Dave) Grosland of Mankato, MN, Jonathan (Jody) Hunstad of New Ulm, Jed (Sadi) Hunstad of Minnetrista, MN, Jamie (Randy) Howk of New Ulm, MN and Wayne Hunstad of Houston,TX; 11 great grand children with another one due to be born later this week: Katherine and Abigail Grosland, Dalton and Raegan Hunstad, Johanna and Jake Kettner, Carson, Marius, Maxwell, and Maddox Hunstad, and Russell Howk; Herzhal's children: Richard, James, Patricia, Shirley, Rose, Gladys, Herzhal, Jr., Kay, Gwendolyn. She is also survived by a brother Alan (Arlene) Syverson of Stillwater. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Eddie Hunstad; her parents; brother Donald Syverson; two sisters: Arlene Ayres and Janette Olsen; and Herzhal's son Michal.
