Harold was born March 12, 1927 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, the son of Harm & Tina Harold was born March 12, 1927 in Mulligan Township, Brown County, the son of Harm & Tina (Loof) Johnson. Elin Nelson and Harold were united in marriage on August 12, 1954 in East Sveadahl.

He is survived by his wife Elin. Children - Douglas (Mary) Johnson of Woodstown, NJ, Diane Britto (Michael Walker) of Lafayette, CA, Donovan Johnson & Steven Johnson both of Comfrey. Grandchildren - Garrett, Emily & Mitchell; and numerous nieces & nephews. Harold is preceded in death by his parents; brothers Harm and John; sisters Minnie, Gertrude, Grace, Anna, Alice and Martha in infancy.

He enjoyed his retirement years reading several area newspapers, caring for his pets, and visiting with neighbors, friends & family. Harold was a longtime collector of advertising matchbooks & pencils. He could often be found caring for his garden or relaxing in his usual chair outside in the yard… he will be sadly missed.

Harold passed away on June 25, 2010 at the Window Area Hospital at the age of 83 years. He was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Comfrey.
