Richard Joseph Gisch was born on February 4, 1927 in Madelia, MN, the son of Josef and Teresa (Lenertz) Gisch. He lived in Madelia and Milroy as a child and moved to a farm north of Mountain Lake in 1939. Richard was united in marriage to Noritta on May 5, 1962 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tracy. In 2005 the couple traded homes with their son and moved into town. He was a 50 year member of the Catholic Aid Society and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Comfrey. Richard enjoyed fishing, reading, hunting, and playing cards.

Richard died on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at the Good Samaritan Home in Mountain Lake, MN.

He is survived by his wife - Noritta R. Gisch of Mountain Lake; children - Venus (Gerald) King of Browerville, MN, Dawn (Ray) Jelinek of Ramsey, MN, and Richard (Dawn) Gisch of Mountain Lake, MN; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a sister - Helen Krueger of Waite Park, MN; and a brother - Raymond (Betty) Gisch of Abernathy, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings - Bernadine Truwe, Joseph Gisch, Alvina Ziegenhagen, Alyce Lamfers, and Dolores Evers. |
