Frances Bergling was born in Dayton, IA. She attended grade school and junior high in the Dayton, IA area moving to the Butterfield, MN area in 1931 with her family. She graduated from Butterfield High School in 1933.
After graduation she moved to Chicago, IL where she lived with relatives and worked as a nanny/housekeeper and also at the Swedish covenant hospital. She returned home to care for her parents after her brother Arvid was inducted into the army during WWII. She married Ruben Bergling in 1946 and they resided at rural Butterfield. Her church, family and her friends were her life. She loved reading, music, church activities, gardening and visiting with friends. She resided on the farm at rural Butterfield until 1993 when she moved to Comfrey. After the tornado in 1998 she moved to Butterfield. As her health declined she resided at Eventide in Mt. Lake, MN and then moved to Pleasant View, St. James and lived there until present.

She is preceded in death by her husband Ruben, parents Frank & Hedvig Stenlund, sister Mildred, brother Arvid, sisters and brothers-in-law Erland and Meta Bergling, Herman and Adelia Jurgens, Randolph and Elna Englin.

Frances is survived by her daughter Avis (Ken) Reed of Minneapolis, Paul (Sharon) Bergling of Butterfield, grandchildren Robin (Jeff) Larson, Kara (Rob) Zielinski, Tammy Reed, Eryn Bergling (Mick Brown), Brian (Heidi) Bergling, great-grandchildren Hana & Wyatt Bergling, Justin & Matthew Zielinske, Emma, Abigail & Owen Larson, sister Mae (Carl) Englin, numerous nieces and nephews. |
